Residents' Organisation Against the Railhead

Dear Supporters of R.O.A.R.

You perhaps thought the Lion had been shot but you were wrong!  The Roaring Lion has awoken to pass on some important developments in the long and ongoing saga of the proposed Egginton Common Railhead.

It is true things have gone quiet for quite a while but they are now on the move so we are writing to warn you all.

You may wish to read an article which appeared in the Derby Telegraph on the 29th January 2010 concerning the proposed Railhead on Egginton Common.  Also for your information is a leaflet that has been published and distributed by The Egginton Parish Council concerning the same subject and also giving details of the latest stage of South Derbyshire District Council's consultation with local residents on the new (local) development plan or Local Development Framework for the district.

Your attention is drawn to the fact that the South Derbyshire District Council is holding an exhibition and consultation event at Hilton Village Hall on 4th March 2010 between 10.00am and 7.00pm.  So this is an opportunity to make your views known to our District Council.  I am sure you will join me in challenging this outrageous proposal.

Remember your views count.  The District Council, which has been voted in by you to represent your best interests, now has a duty to act in your best interests.

If your cannot attend this exhibition or if you would prefer to respond by post or e-mail you can download a manual questionnaire. You can find this below related documents at the bottom of the page of the link given below.

With best regards to you all and remember, better roar now than never!!
